25 Days of Christmas 2011

It’s that time of year again, and with that comes the second annual ‘Tim’s 25 days of Christmas’. Last year, I began this blog-of-sorts as a means of spreading a little Christmas cheer and sharing it with the people in my life. I remember feeling the Christmas spirit and wanted to help those needing some support as a way of counteracting the sometimes overwhelming pressure and stress that comes along with the season. How great does it feel when you are able to do something for someone else?
Tim’s 25 days of Christmas is a daily blog during the 25 days leading up to and including, Christmas. Each day, I share a little Christmas music video to get you in the mood for the holidays and I then I also feature a charity of the day. For each day of the campaign I donate $5.00 to a different charity and share the links so that you can do the same. Now, I know that $5.00 isn’t a lot of money, but then again, it’s typically the time of year when budgets are tight. The intent was that if people in my network start joining me and matching my meager $5.00 donation, then all of a sudden, that $5 bucks turns into $10, $20, $50, $200 and beyond, and now we are starting to make a difference. This page will chronicle each of the Charities that we donate to on a daily basis. That way, if you miss a day you can come back here and catch up. After Christmas Day, the list will be complete and you will be able to look back and reflect on all of the positivity and Christmas spirit you have helped to foster.
Finally, because I aim to make this a community experience, if you have any suggestions for charities in need of support or perhaps would like to suggest your favourite Christmas music video, please let me know. It may already be on the list, or it may find a spot on the 2012 list. Either way, I would love to have you contribute.

Update: December 25th, 2011
There you have it… The Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas 2011 list is complete. If you have missed some, most or all of the campaign yet still want to feel as great about yourself as we do, you can go ahead and donate your $5.00 a day to each of the charities listed above. Welcome to the Christmas Spirit Club. It’s great to have you, doesn’t it feel amazing? A Special Thank-you goes out to the many Retweeters, the Facebook Likers, the commentors, the Charity and music video suggestors, the link sharers, and of course to those who followed along and added their daily Donation. My sincere thanks for once again making this campaign a part of your Christmas season, and for helping to make it the success that it was. Rest assured, we’ll be back next year in 2012 for yet another season of Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas.
Happiest of Holidays to you and yours.
Tim
