Street racing hotshots are divided into teams then battle it out on an open runway to find out who lives up to the hype: You claim you’re the fastest? NOW BACK IT UP!

Synopsis:
There’s no question, people love their vehicles. In fact, many are outright fanatical in their devotion. For motorheads everywhere, there’s one overriding question: “Who’s the fastest?”

NOW BACK IT UP! definitively answers this tire burning question in a season of totally original competition where the stakes are huge.

We all love it when a braggart is called out and smacked down…  NOW BACK IT UP! gathers these big talkers in one place and sorts the truth from fiction…  Challenging them to race each other side by side and either back up their (frequently self-generated) publicity, or tuck tail and limp home.

64 competitors from radically different backgrounds will gather. 8 teams consisting of 8 participants will be formed using natural groupings of traditional motorsports rivals.

Every week one competitor from each group will be nominated by their team to compete. Joining them every week will be a different special celebrity guest vehicle.

These eight featured vehicles will compete in three dramatic speed competitions specifically designed to distinguish the fastest competitors.

Who will deliver the goods? We shall see.

Competitors who are eliminated suffer as they abandon their vehicles and watch them towed to the NOW BACK IT UP! impound… enduring the ‘walk of shame’ back to their team’s quarters. For the remainder of the season, they act as support crew for the rest of their team. This naturally creates tension in the teams, while the number of competitors is whittled down throughout the season to eight semi-finalists.

As the season unfolds, records are kept comparing every vehicle in the competition in each contest. On the Internet, the statistics are shared, along with the full data sheets on the vehicles, their modifications, horsepower, and driver bios.  This generates a great deal of attention as motorsports fans crave this kind of data. The information also allows fans to compare any combination of vehicles and outcomes from the entire season’s races.  Much like Mythbusters, NOW BACK IT UP!becomes the ‘score settler’ for arguments about which vehicles and which modifications are fastest in real-world tests…   This also gives us benchmarks for future seasons of NOW BACK IT UP!

It’s a perfect testosterone cocktail: a 200 mph Host on a 400 horsepower chase bike, over 7 million dollars of jaw-dropping fast modified vehicles, a collection of eccentric motorheads and notorious Internet speedsters, unique pecial guests and a 1.5 mile runway.

Every episode features adrenaline pumping competition between some of the biggest characters in the world of street motorsports and the fastest street vehicles in the country… building to an unbelievable 260+MPH side-by-side racing climax in the season finale.
