Well, it’s that time of year again, Merry Christmas everyone!! As I write this, it’s nearly 9am in the morning. I have been up for well over an hour, and the house is still quiet. My whole family is sick this Christmas, so they are all still fast asleep, dreaming of sugar plums and such. For some reason I awoke while it was still dark out, and couldn’t go back to sleep. It’s given me some time to think, to reflect on the road that has taken me here. The last 25 days have gone by quickly, and without much incident. Yet, I still feel a small sense of pride. I’m not sure what sort of following I created with this blog, or if I have had any impact… I guess there is no real way to tell. Mostly, I’m just glad to have done it myself. I like the romance and hope in the idea that I have inspired others to take a moment each day, to get outside of the crazy hectic schedules we all lead, to find the time to appreciate how fortunate we all are, and to remember that there are many, many others who are not. Whether it was 1 dollar or 10 dollars a day, it warms my spirit to know that I, and others like me, have given to causes that help support those in need. At some point we are all in need. Christmas is often confused and stressful; have to buy the perfect gift, have to be the perfect host, have to cook the perfect turkey, and I can appreciate all of those things, but there is so much more. I love that idea, that if only on this one day a year, people put aside the feelings of animosity and anger, rage or hate, and let it all just be. It’s Christmas…I’ll hold the door for someone else, it’s Christmas. I will make room for you to drive in this lane, it’s Christmas. I can forget that thing you did to me, and just enjoy your company…it’s Christmas. Today’s video often reminds me of that feeling. How great would it be without war and strife, hatred or prejudice? Christmas, for whatever reason seems to embody that….and so I have saved my favourite, and what I think is the best one, for the 25th Day, Christmas Day!
And since I am keeping the best for last, I have also kept the most significant charity to my life until the end as well. The thought process was that, after 24 days of campaigning, getting followers to this blog, and 24 days of attempting to inspire others to donate daily for the month of December, that I would make a bigger impact by to this charity. More people to donate themselves, and more people to spread the word and share this with others. Today, I donate $20.00 to a foundation that supported and helped save the life of my mother, the BC Cancer Foundation. Over 5 years ago, I got the worst phone call of my life, one that I hope never to hear again, and one that I hope you will never have to receive either. And nearly 5 years ago, my mom beat the beast cancer that threatened to take her life. Needless to say, I don’t take our time together for granted. Make everyday special, my friends, especially on Christmas. I hope you can find something to give as well. You can make your donation here.
So, on this final day of ‘Tim’s 25 days of Christmas’ I just want to Thank you and appreciate you for reading this blog, for any donations you have made, and for taking the time to share this campaign with others. I look forward to repeating this again in a year’s time, and hope that all my friends and family will join me in my attempt to improve the life of other’s.
If you are new to this blog, I have created a playlist of all 25 videos on my YouTube Channel which you can check out here:

As always, I encourage you to make a donation as I did, and share this blog with others. Please leave me a comment on my Facebook and let me know that you have been following or any thoughts you might have.

Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas – Day 24
CHRISTMAS EVE!!
It’s Christmas Eve, and so far the day has started off so well. I’m a little sick, but I can muscle through that. My Christmas shopping is done, and I feel good about all the presents I will be giving. And really, that is the most important thing for me. Christmas is MY holiday, in case you haven’t figured it out. I truly believe that you don’t need a holiday to give the loved ones in your life a gift, in fact I often aspire to do so unexpectedly all the time. But, at Christmas, well, at Christmas I can give and give and give and you can’t give me grief about it…’cause it’s Christmas. Today’s video is one that I had originally planned to feature tomorrow, but I promised I would save my favourite and the best for last. So, I’ll do that instead. I had also intended to dedicate this video to someone as well, but decided it wasn’t a good idea. Oh well, I guess this can go out to all those who have longing in their hearts. I much prefer the Harry Connick Jr. version, but this is the only one I can find with a video. It’s pretty good as well.
Today’s charity is a special one. It’s dedicated to a couple people in my life that have also had their lives devastated by this terrible affliction. Because there are two dedications, I have doubled my meager donation. I have donated $10.00 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and I dedicate it to both Mike and Richard, who families have been rocked by stroke. My sympathies go out to your families during this difficult time. I lost my grandfather to a heart attack a couple of years ago, and every Christmas has been hard since. I just remember to laugh and smile as much as I can in his name! If you’d like to add to and increase the significance of my small donation, you can do so here.

Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas – Day 23
Yikes….2 sleeps until Christmas…and of course, I have become sick. I guess all this generosity has sapped my strength and energy. It’s ok, I will not let this get me down, my Christmas Spirit shall overcome. Today’s Christmas video is dedicated to my Mother who is a big fan of this artist. I was able to find a clip of Roch Voisine, or as my dad calls him, ‘Raw Cuisine” and Anne Murray.
The charity of the day goes hand in hand, and today’s $5.00 donation benefits M.A.D.D. Mothers Against Drinking and Driving. You can make a donation as well, here. Better go and get the last of my shopping done.

Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas – Day 22
Well, it’s about that time, the time when we start dreaming that we might get a snowfall just in time for Christmas morning. What better way to start that wish off, then with a little Bing Crosby.
Today’s charity donation supports an organization that is all about snow…liquid snow anyway. The Water Project can give someone a day’s worth of water for 1 dollar. You can match my 5 day donation, or as many days as you have to give, here.

Tim’s 25 Days of Christmas – Day 21
Crunch time. Cue Flight of the Bumblebees…it’s shopping time! That’s right, I finally have time to go shopping. While I write this, I am mentally preparing to deal with the intense pandemonium, stretching the hami’s and putting on elbow pads. Oh, the elbows will be thrown.
In the Spirit of marathons, today’s featured Charity is the Terry Fox Foundation. I have donated $5.00, and you can do the same, whatever amount you can spare, here. Remember, that in the last few days leading up to Christmas, that the season isn’t supposed to be about the stress of getting the “right gift” or making sure that dinner is perfect, it’s about sharing laughs and fond memories with the people in your life. When you feel the stress building, take a second and “sing loud for everyone to hear.”
Happiest of Holidays,
Tim Rockey
